I think we can all agree that the Ministry could do a better job. We would do well to recall that some of these problems they are dealing with have been a decade in the making. Issues of that vein take time to solve. For us to think that there will not be mistakes and growing pains in the functions of government is somewhat mental. As long as they learn from this setback, what more can we ask? All the inciters have to do is throw off the Ministry once but yet the Ministry has to be right every time.

39 days until Hogwarts is out for the summer hols. I never have to come back. How brilliant is that? Of course, this also means that my Quidditch career is over now. At least we went out with a win, hard-fought though it was. Those matches are the best.

The way this world is going, it seems that living vicariously is out as an option. But at least I will not be inside these castle walls round the clock either.

We won yesterday and that is all that matters. Now I just hope Gryffindor doesn't beat Ravenclaw by too much. Imagine that - a Slytherin rooting for a Gryffindor victory. I must be daffy.

Today is my eighteenth birthday. It could not come a mite too soon either because Merlin knows this week has been busier than belief. Now that Slughorn's essay is done, I can spend my special day in style.
